I was condsidering getting the BD370 Blu-Ray player, because I am kind of a movie buff, and I wanted to get cinema quality movies in the comfort of my own home. I have a colleague at work,(Stan), who is a bit of an audiophile, and he raves about his BD 370 ALL the time!
According to Stan, the key is to find a Blu-Ray player that has all the features that you want, at an affordable price. He also mentioned that Blu-Ray player prices have come down alot in the last year. Sure enough, I went online to Amazon.com and the BD370 could be had for WAY under 200.00!
I read one particularly lengthy, and positive LG BD370 review, and decided it was the perfect time to buy the BD370! It arrived promptly in just a few days, and I began checking out it's general appearance and features.
The design of the LG BD370 is, generally speaking, VERY slim. The drive is hidden behind an automatic door, and some of the controls are placed behind a flip-down panel on the right.
The Open/Eject and Play controls are placed on the corners of the center panel, which also includes the Power Button.
The one slight irritation is that they put the USB port, behind the flip-down panel. Now personally, I couldn’t care less for BD-Live content, so it doesn't matter to me. However, if you are interested, keeping that door down could be a little bothersome, but it is really no big deal
The BD370- Easy Set Up And Quiet As A Mouse!
The BD370 is Profile 2.0 compatible, and features onboard decoding for the new audio formats, including Dolby Digital+, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD. Set-up could not be easier, and the interface is simple and easy to use. The LG BD370 starts in the blink of an eye, and is extremely quiet.
Blu-Ray discs load awfully fast, and they look and sound superb. DVDs look awesome, too! I’m ceratainly not a video "freak", but as far as I’m concerned, the video is just fine.
As i told my colleague at work, I bought the BD370 for Netflix Instant streaming, and it definitely is excellent.
I was pleasantly surprised that some movies look as good as a DVD. Youtube works fine, as well. CinemaNow access is supposed to be coming soon too!
In conclusion, it is amazing that the BD370 has SO many state of the art features at such a LOW price. I LOVE it!!
